Career: ER Doctor

This career was a request from a friend of mine. She wanted a more specified medical career than the in-game default one, and gave me the job titles and descriptions to go off of.Β  Download link is at the bottom, skip over the description if you like the element of surprise.

 

 

SPOILER Description:

1. Bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences

Days: M-F (off weekends)
Hours: 8am – 3pm
Pay: $14 per hour

Description: “It’s taken you four years of grueling
work and studying to properly acquaint yourself to
the world of human biology and chemistry. Finish up
your last semester of college, and make your post-grad
plans. You… wanted to be an ER Doctor, right? You
want to save lives and help those in need? How about
taking the MCAT?

2. MCAT Examinee

Days: M-F (off weekends)
Hours: 8am – 3pm
Pay: $14 per hour
Car: CarUsed2

Description: You’re studying hard for this test, it
should be a piece of cake for you. If you don’t get
into Med School… Well, there’s always openings
down in maintenance! Hey, those bedpans don’t clean
themselves!

3. Med Student

Days: M-S (off Sunday)
Hours: 8am – 5pm
Pay: $17 per hour
Car: CarUsed2

Description: Congratulations! Your hard work paid off!
Now you’ve got to concentrate all your energy and efforts
on passing Medical School to the best of your ability.
If you don’t make it, you’ll have a college debt looming
over your poor head the rest of your life.

4. Doctorate in Medicine

Days: M-F (off weekends)
Hours: 9am – 2pm
Pay: $17 per hour
Car: CarNormal1

Description: Now that you’re a legitimate doctor, let’s
see if you can put your learning to use. Keep your skills
sharp, and when you’re ready, get licensed to practice
medicine. Then, find a job!

5. Licensed Medical Practitioner

Days: M-S (off Sunday)
Hours: 8am – 7pm
Pay: $30 per hour
Car: CarNormal1

Description: Great! Since you’ve become licensed to practice
medicine, you’ve been working in and out of hospitals when
they need an extra hand. However, this lifestyle isn’t quite
to your taste. Hopefully you can land a job with a more
permanent location sometime soon.

6. Resident, First Year

Days: M-F (off weekends)
Hours: 8am – 5pm
Pay: $50 per hour
Car: CarNormal1

Description: Wonderful news: you’ve done such a great job as
an on-call medical practitioner, that one of the hospitals
offered you residency in the Emergency Room Division! Since
this is your first year, be extra careful not to step on any
toes, be it of the nurses or of your senior doctors. You’re
a wonderful and hard-working person, though. You’ll do fine!

7. Resident, Second Year

Days: M-F (off weekends)
Hours: 8am – 5pm
Pay: $65 per hour
Car: CarNormal1

Description: Your first year of residency went smoothly. You’re
a favorite of patients and staff alike. You’re really coming
into your own–a very charismatic and empathetic doctor. Keep
working hard and you’ll make a great reputation for yourself!

8. Resident, Third Year

Days: M, Tu, (Off Wed), Thur, Fri, (off weekends)
Hours: 8am – 6pm
Pay: $90 per hour

Description: Your third and final year of residency, huh? You’re
doing great! You only have one more year to go before you’re
really out on your own as a doctor. You’ve gained some seniority
with your peers, all thanks to your hard work, honesty, and
courtesy with patients and coworkers. Keep it up and you’ll be
top doc!

9. Emergency Room M.D./F.A.C.S

Days: M,T,W,(off Thurs), Fri, Sat, (off Sun)
Hours: 7am – 6pm
Pay: $305 per hour
Car: CarExpensive2

Description: At long last, you’re your very own Emergency Room
Doctor. You’ve also undertaken additional training as a surgeon,
making your credentials shine like a lighthouse in a storm in
this division of the hospital. You are now equal in seniority
to your peers, and many will consult you for your medical opinions.
You could have made thrice as much as you do now working for
that other hospital, but you feel like you could be of more
service at the general hospital in the area. The ER staff at your
new workplace couldn’t agree more.

10. Senior ER M.D/F.A.C.S

Days: (off Mon), Tu, W, Th, Fri, Sat, (off Sun)
Hours: 7am – 6pm
Pay: $350 per hour
Car: CarExpensive2

Description: It’s been a few years since you came to work at the
general hospital. You’re now one of the most respected doctors in
the ER. Despite making so much money, and prestige to match, you’ve
always kept yourself humble, honest, and were never anything less
than a good person. Men, women, and children all over the city owe
you their lives. You’ve saved countless people thanks to your sharp
thinking and reactions. You’re now doing what you always hoped you
could do: save lives and help those in need. Well done! Your dream
has finally come true!
